Welcome to St. John's!

     I am pleased to introduce you to our school.  We provide quality education for children of all denominations and faiths.  Our curriculum includes subjects presecribed by New York State, in addition to a daily study of God's Word and its application to the lives of our students.

     We have wonderful students who benefit from small classes and a warm school atmosphere.  We help prepare young people to build a firm foundation for academic excellence, moral relationships, and a healthy Christian faith. Our graduates are routinely accepted into top Lutheran, Roman Catholic, and NYC specialized public high schools.  

     Our teachers provide quailty instruction, using educational technology to enhance their daily lessons, and many utilize Smart Boards and the Internet in their teaching methods each day.

     However, there are certain aspects of our school that are difficult to portray within these web pages, and we therefore encourage you to watch a short video.

Weekly Memo

"Celebrating Jesus at the Core and Excellence Throughout!"  The core of the apple or the core values of an institution is that which gives the entity life and direction.  We celebrate our Christian faith and follow the central truths from scripture to give our school life and meaning.  Jesus said, "Let the children come to me..." and St. John's has been doing that for over 150 years.  

With Jesus at the Core, it follows that we strive for excellence, since Jesus Himself said, "You must be perfect--just as your Father in heaven is perfect."  (Matthew 5:48--Good News Translation)  Although we can't be perfect, we develop our talents and abilities in order to present our best thinking, speaking, and doing every day.  Join us in helping our young scholars celebrate excellence throughout!
