About St. John's
Excellence in Education...
St. John's provides quality education for children of all denominations and faiths. Founded in Williamsburg in 1848 and relocated to Glendale in 1927, the school has served church and community for over 150 years. The curriculum includes subjects prescribed by New York State, along with the daily study of God's Word and its application to the students' lives.
Teachers at St. John's average more than ten years of teaching experience and more than 50% of our faculty have earned Masters Degrees. The teachers are encouraged to use technology to enhance their daily lessons, and many utilize the Smart Boards and the Internet in their teaching methods each day.
Regular evaluations using appropriate New York State tests and the Terra Nova Achievement Test consistently reflect high levels of performance. St John's faculty engages in ongoing curriculum review and development in line with New York State's Common Core State Standards, a set of learning guidelines designed to prepare students for college and career and guide the curriculum from pre-kindergarten to grade 12.
